Adaptable Offset Mount is compatible with curved desks and maximizes usable work space
The MKIT-K2 Surface Offset Mount has a unique and versatile design that positions the monitor arm installation point beyond the edge of the furniture. It can also be mounted above or below the worksurface, thus solving many mounting challenges presented by conventional mounting methods. Through-desk mounts require drilling through the worksurface, while clamp-mounts are not compatible with curved desks. Both methods reduce the usable workspace. The Surface Offset Mount preserves the attractive look of executive desks and high-end furniture since it can be safely attached beneath the work surface. It is perfect for circular and irregularly-shaped desk edges where other types of mounting may be difficult or impossible. It is also a great option for cabinets and shelves, including wire shelves. The MKIT-K2 is suitable for most solid wood surfaces ¾” thick or greater and supports payloads up to 20 pounds.*
Since there are so many possible use scenarios for the offset mount, fasteners are not included. Customers must determine and obtain the right fastener for their unique application. There are a total of 10 fastener hole locations that are .2” in diameter designed for use with #10 screws. The attachment area is approximately 5” deep by 6” wide (see Specifications PDF in the Download tab). Typical MDF core surfaces that are 1” thick or greater will support total payloads up to 20 lb. when using SAA7000, SAA2010, SAA2045, and SAA179 arms. The LS413S pole may be loaded to 30 lb. in most cases since the payload is near the vertical pole.
The MKIT-K2 can be modified to attach the mounting cup below the plates for both stands (MKIT-K3) and for monitor arms (MKIT-K4). Contact Ergomart to discuss your requirements if you wish to suspend a pole or arm downward.

Important Notes
- The surface, fastener type, and arm or pole type determine acceptable payload
- Users provide their own fasteners based on the surface material properties
- Call us for assistance identifying and selecting fasteners compatible with your surface material
- SAA7000, SAA2010, SAA2045 and SAA179 arms and the LS413S and LS9137S pole mounts do not usually place undue stress on correctly mounted offset plates
- Contact us by phone or e-mail to discuss your payload requirements at 888 420 3200 or [email protected]
- Both plates are about .14” thick and have a combined plate thickness of about .28” where they overlap
- Six fasteners hold the larger .14” thick single plate around its perimeter
- Four additional fasteners are needed where plate thickness is doubled to .28”
- Longer reach arms such as the SAA2718 and the SAA4229 should not be used with this mount
